What do I get when I have my furnace Cleaned and Checked?

1. We clean the entire furnace, furnace door, and furnace compartment to keep unwanted dirt and dust from being pulled into the furnace and the electric motors, and so it does not build up becoming a fire hazard.

2. We do a visual inspection of your entire heat exchange to make sure there are no cracks or holes that could cause a carbon monoxide leak.  We will alert you if we find any signs of future problems such as hot spots that would indicate a future hole or crack.

3. We check your filters. We clean your filters if washable and have new filters available for purchase if you need new.

4. We inspect you burners. We make sure your burner is not plugged and your flame comes on smoothly and looks proper. This will ensure that your furnace is burning as efficiently as possible.

5. If the furnace uses a hot surface igniter to light the burner, we make sure it is heating up and lighting the flame properly. If it has a hot spot, its color will be a brighter orange color, or may even be white at this point when not lite. If so, the hot surface igniter is cracked and should be replaced.  We carry all models of igniters on the trucks.

6. We check the temperature rise to ensure that it is within the limits listed by the manufacturer, again ensuring safe and efficient operation.

7. We do a complete gas leak check of the entire furnace, gas valve, and gas line.  Often there can be very small gas leaks in the line or valve that cannot be detected by smell that we can detect and repair before they can grow large enough to cause danger.

8. Lastly, but most important, we check for Carbon Monoxide around the furnace and throughout the house while the appliance is running.  Carbon Monoxide is a VERY DANGERIOUS gas that cannot be detected by sight or smell and can be deadly if it goes undetected.
